Marcel Andries, founder of Musicerende Jeugd, became the first teacher of music pedagogy at the Lemmens Institute (Leuven) in 1950, in 1953 he was in charge of the Music Pedagogical Department of the Brabant Conservatory in Tilburg (NL)
and in 1954 he became head of the Music Pedagogical Department of the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. In 1954 Marcel Andries founded the Musica Domestica association, which devoted itself to the practice of music at home and at school and which was transformed into Musicerende Jeugd in 1957, with which he distributed song arrangements and choral works for schools
(including through the 'Musicerende Jeugd-Muziekblaadjes') ). He also made translations of collections of Orff's Schulwerk. Youth music schools were also set up on the initiative of Musicerende Jeugd. In 2010 the catalog was taken over by Euprint ed.
